This association survives off donation from you; the rower and rowing supporter.

Mission

The Lone Star Rowing Association (LSRA) mission is to promote amateur rowing in the State of Texas.

Vision

That Texas will be one of the best places to row in the United States and that amateur rowing will be a valued part of the greater community.

Purpose

-Promote amateur rowing in the State of Texas
-Act as an umbrella organization for the Texas rowing community
-Create a program for and promote adaptive rowing
-Create positive ties between Master, Junior, Club and Collegiate programs
-Promote Junior rowing in Texas
-Provide access to instruction and coaching
-Increase the general public’s awareness and benefits of rowing

Benefits - All Rowing Organizations

- Act as the voice of rowing in Texas when working with city and state organizations
- Provide a unified front when writing grants and raising money to promote rowing (excluding colleges)
- Be a central information source for statistics, contacts, Texas regattas and other information needed by those inside and outside the rowing community
- Promote positive relationships between clubs
- Be the central communication point for regattas outside of Texas such as joint trailing, timing of equipment purchase,
- Be an affiliation to be used at away events such as the Head of the Charles, San Diego Crew Classic, Masters and World Masters
- Provide resources and assistance for organizing and running regattas
- Be the oversight organization that standardizes rules, safety precautions (in accordance with USRA rules) and other items that impact all rowing organizations in Texas

Benefits - Non-Rowing Community

- Financial assistance for Junior rowers who would not otherwise be able to participate in rowing
- Access to a new sport for those who are physically disabled
- Central location for discussing issues concerning both the rowing and non-rowing community such as traffic, hazards and trash on the waterways

Benefits - Juniors

- Ensure that no single club is financially responsible for the Texas State Junior Championships
- Be the central resource for collegiate coaches to collect information about prospects
- Coordinate visits and bring collegiate coaches and technical specialists to Texas

Benefits - College

- Be the central resource for collegiate coaches to collect information about prospects
- Provide collegiate coaches with a contact point when issues arise between club, junior and college teams

Benefits - Masters

- Post electronic requests for rowing partners and boats for away regattas such as Masters Nationals
- Combine points for away events by using the LSRA affiliation
